Let this be the LAST rainy Wednesday for a while!

Summer Concerts are one week away, so it’s okay that it rained tonight – as long as it’s the last rainy Wednesday that we see for a while. Quite a while. I’m gonna say about seven weeks of dry Wednesday’s would be just splendid!

Concert flyers are available at the Library, Town Hall and Post Office. Get yourself a copy and admire our local sponsors, thank our awesome sponsors, patronize our fine sponsors!

See you next week … on the common!

What You Can Do

The Summer Concert committee met last Sunday to discuss the final details for the 2010 concert series.
What we need now is your support – your choice:
  • We are looking for individuals (or families) to set up chairs and tables before the concerts, individuals (or families) to put away the chairs, tables and assist with picking up the trash bags after the concerts.
  • We are also looking for Dunstable groups and organizations interested in promoting themselves while selling our very popular ice cream treats (no scooping necessary)!
  • We are also in need of donations: Got an item that’s nice enough to re-gift (but don’t want to feel the guilt)? Or can you offer a professional service? Do you have a gift card to someplace you’ll never go? We could use any of those types of items for our “Trash To Treasure” table. (Scheduled for July 14th).

And of course financial donations can be made to: Dunstable Summer Concerts and mailed c/o Sue Tully, 348 Hollis St. Dunstable , MA 01827

August 12 2009

The Rampage Trio played tonight under dark clouds but drove away any showers with their rock and roll with a bluesy edge.

This is the last Concert on the Common for this summer and was our original rain date. Despite a rainy start to the series, we had a great late July and August.

But like summer, the concerts too have to come to an end. We all thank everyone who have made the concerts possible, from those who set up tables, to those who staffed them and made a lot of people happy with books, raffle tickets, and ice cream. Don't forget the hard work of the Common Chefs, and the Mr. Horton's honey which is the very best. Most of all, all of you who came down and enjoyed the concerts inspired the musicians.

The Transistors play the Common August 5th

The Transistors returned to the Common with their classic rock and roll. A big thanks to the Dunstable Cultural Council for underwriting tonight's concert. Not only did many people take advantage of Trash to Treasure (all those yellow tickets!) but we had a big winner of two Red Sox tickets - Dunstable's own Ms. Judith Thompson! Big thanks to BAE Systems for this donation to the concert series and to all who supported the concert by buying a ticket.

Thanks to the Emergency Management team for setting up a table and sharing their Preparedness brochure.

Did everyone get a chance to peruse the honey for sale at the top of the field?

Don't forget - August 12th is the Concert Rain Date so summer isn't over yet!
